Prince Albert II Foundation
Prince Albert II Foundation - Planting first tree as a symbol
Poverty is one of the root causes of environmental degradation in Malawi and is at the core of the government's development agenda for foreseeable future.
We have the platforms as churches, community meetings, and funeral services among others which shall be used to raise awareness. In the case of Malosa students we have established environmental education clubs. The project may reach up to 300 000 people with the messages about taking care of the environment.
We will also integrate local representatives into the decision-making process in order to empower local communities in the management of natural resources.
As the Anglican Diocese of upper Shire we wish to plant 1 000 000 trees in the space of 5 years of which this year we shall target about 200 000 trees.
